  • When you value your time, want to get your trip plans right, and aim to travel stress-free, a travel advisor is invaluable. We find the best combination of reality meeting expectations. We are in the know with what’s going on beyond our home bubble, from air traffic to weather to politics and beyond. We organize complicated plans and handle all the details for you. We know how to find answers and resources for your wildest dreams and most special of needs. We know how to wrangle groups of travelers to get on the same page. We solve problems that you didn’t even know existed.

    All you have to do is tell us what you’d like to do, see, feel, and spend, and we take it from there.

  • Travel Agents sell travel. Online booking sites are automated travel agents. The goal is to sell you a trip and earn commission on the sale. Full stop.

    Travel Advisors are Experience Managers. What we sell is the benefit of our service, knowledge, and expertise: advocacy for your travel experience, curation of your perfect trip, and ease of the details being handled on your behalf. The goal is a trip you love with the added perks of knowledgeable, networked travel advocates when you hire a Travel Advisor.

    In either case, it’s most important you work with the service that will suit your needs.

  • Schedule a phone consultation here. Once scheduled, complete the Trip Design Questionnaire in order to make the most of our time together.

  • Mindset Travel is headquartered in Greenville, SC. Our services are entirely online, over the phone, and through video chat.

  • Absolutely. In fact, we have clients in over 30 states, and even a few in Australia and the UK. Our online services ensure we’re accessible and easy to work with, no matter where we all are. We believe you should have access to work with the agency that is the best fit for you and your trip plans, regardless where you or we are located. (We work when we travel, so we’re pros at this.)

    The cost is based on the length of the trip, number of travelers, and complexity of your travel plans.

    To retain your spot in our Design Queue, submit payment for the appropriate Design Service Package.

    Our service ends when either:

    • You have returned from your trip and have no other needs for this set of travel plans.

    • OR, Travel Plans have not been reserved within 7 days of your first itinerary draft being delivered. Note that time on our end does not count toward this 7 days.

    This ensures our services are provided when relevant and timely for travelers to put their plans in place.

  • As a boutique luxury service, we best serve travelers with minimum budgets of:

    • $500 per person per day for domestic travel

    • $600 per person per day for most international travel

    • $1000 per person per day for African safari travel

    • Certain destinations or types of travel may have different requirements

    These estimates include accommodations, ground transportation, and destination experiences. They exclude flights and travel protection.

  • Quotes are provided as part of our service package along with the design and sourcing of your itinerary components.

    Our end-to-end services ensure a seamless experience from idea to return.

  • We plan travel to international destinations, plus Alaska, Hawaii, and US Territories, like the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico. Our network of destination contacts is far reaching, with incredible partners in:

    • Europe

    • Central America

    • The Caribbean

    • South America

    • Most of Africa

    • Pacific Islands

    • Middle East

    • Oceania

    • Antarctica (exclusively expedition cruises)

    • Southeast Asia and Japan

    We are experts in designing end-to-end, custom travel packages: from-scratch, personalized travel plans with high quality hotels, expert local guides, professional private drivers, and authentic local experiences. We partner with specialists in the destinations to create seamless experiences on the ground, from arrival to departure. We have a few ideas on the website to Inspire You.

    If we don’t serve a destination or a style of travel, we will refer you to an agency or advisor that does.

  • All reservations require the purchase of a service package.

    We offer à la carte reservations with our Anytime Adventurer Service Package. This is a 12-month service that provides a la carte reservations for flights, hotels, and ground transportation as needed.

  • Our expertise is in crafting customized plans with a variety of luxury travel services that we can reserve on your behalf:

    • Flights on major Commercial Airlines, Charters, or Private Jets

    • Accommodations at Hotels, Villas, Chalets, Resorts, and Managed Exclusive-Use properties

    • Private Transfers, Private Chauffeurs, First Class Rail Travel, and Vehicle Rentals

    • Private Guides and Private Experiences, Classes, Activities, and Tours

    • Airport Meet & Greet and Immigration Fast Track Services (where available)

    • Travel Protection products (we are not licensed insurance agents!)

    • Ocean Cruises, River Cruises, and Expedition Cruises with pre- and post-cruise travel

    • Escorted Group Tours

  • No. We believe Disney is a special vacation, and should be handled by Disney experts who live, eat, sleep, and breathe the experiences they offer. Please reach out to a Disney specialist for these plans.

  • In short, no. These services are intended to be peer-to-peer. That is, made by the guest to the owner.

    While we do work with alternative companies that help manage the quality of your plans and the seamlessness of your experience, there are inherent risks to these types of reservations as properties may be managed, but not regulated. You should be aware of these risks.

  • We offer our annual Anytime Adventurer Service Package for travelers who are interested in à la carte reservations.

    With all other Service Packages, we provide end-to-end services including, at a minimum, accommodations and ground transportation from arrival to departure.

  • While we can’t accept points for reservations as a form of payment, we encourage you to use them! That’s why we earn points in the first place.

    Given the confidential nature of points programs, we are not able to account for their use in our Design Services until reservations have been secured.

    Once you’ve secured your points or rewards reservations, forward these booking confirmations to your Travel Designer so we can design the remainder of the trip around these reservations.

  • We will make reservations for first-time clients at least 45 days in advance of your planned departure. We suggest to secure our services at least 60 days prior.

    Due to the cost of travel and high cost of associated risk, this timeline ensures cardholders have the opportunity to see and review the charges made.

  • We think the sweet spot for most travel reservations is 6-9 months in advance.

    For under-developed and/or difficult to access destinations, we recommend 9-11 months in advance.

    For unique or specialty destinations, you may need to reserve more like 2 years in advance. This includes Sandals and Beaches resorts in Turks & Caicos, Overwater Bungalows in Tahiti, Fiji, the Maldives, or the Caribbean, and specialty hotels such as Giraffe Manor in Nairobi, Kenya.

  • Get in touch and we’ll ask you some questions to understand your wish list, priorities, and budget. We’ll get busy narrowing down your options in discussion with you to create your perfect travel plan.

  • Because changes and cancellations impact the service of clients in our Design Queue, we have a limited set of fees in place.

    • $50 per person for each change request that occurs within 45 days of your scheduled departure.

    • $150 per person for cancellation within 45 days of your scheduled departure.

    These fees are separate from those of a travel supplier. They must be paid prior to processing your trip change or cancellation.

  • We work with an incredible network of travel suppliers through our personal experiences networking and traveling with local providers, and through our industry affiliations.

    We prioritize providers that we have vetted and are confident in the overall experience. As a boutique, specialized agency, we may not book with commercial providers.

    Should you have a specific and brand-name request, please reach out to us, and we will let you know or refer you to an agency that can assist.

  • Payment for the Design Service Packages is made directly to Mindset Travel.

    Payments for your travel plans are made directly to the recommended travel company. Your Travel Advisor makes and manages these payments on your behalf with our Reservation Management Services.

  • Mindset Travel and our partners accept payment by major credit card, including Visa, MasterCard, and usually American Express. Alternative methods, such as wire transfers, may be available on a one-off basis.

    Discover is only accepted for domestic transactions.

    We strongly recommend that you use a credit card for all travel related purchases, not a debit card.

  • We’re so glad you asked!!

    We’re an IATA-accredited travel agency. (International Air Transport Association). This accreditation requires a host of requirements be met, from financial to ethical to business history. We will provide our unique code on request for you to verify on the IATA checkacode website.

    We are also a member of the American Society of Travel Advisors (ASTA), and Denise is an ASTA Verified Travel Advisor (VTA). Our team holds a host of other certifications and specializations as well, provided by hoteliers, vacation providers, and tourism bureaus.

    Your time is your most valuable asset, and when you entrust us with it, you should feel confident in our legitimacy and business practices.
